Ten Years and Counting

We’re celebrating ten years of marriage – our very first wedded double digit!

Our vows, originally scribbled on napkins on a drive home from Whistler, are the promises we made to each other. Some of these vows have come more naturally, others we’re still working on – all of them are just as true today as they were a decade ago.

Today we do not join two worlds
Rather I leave mine behind
And I mine
To begin a new life together
We both know we are better together
Together we will persist through adversity
Together we will pursue an ever-growing understanding of our God, who is love
Together we commit to the success and happiness of the other
Together we live a life worthy of the calling we have received
As your husband, I will love you from the first light of morning
As your wife, I will love you until the last moments of night
As your husband, I will love you when all is in in our favour
As your wife, I will love you when days are overwhelming
As your husband, I will love you in times of great need
As your wife, I will love you in seasons where we lack nothing
As your husband, I commit to deepening our relationship through God-centeredness, daily building trust, and vulnerable communication
As your wife, I commit to deepening our relationship through fueling the passion between us and ensuring we enjoy the “everyday” moments – never forgetting to enjoy the journey and the lessons we learn along the way
Together we know that everyday is our greatest achievement
Today, I am no longer my own, I give myself to you
Today, I am no longer my own, I give myself to you

*full disclosure: we totally didn’t post this on our anniversary, but we sure did backdate to make it look that way. +10 sentimental points!
