PC is not a Term in Poland

Canadians may claim to be without a distinct culture, but there are a few core elements that comprise Canadian cultural DNA. Political correctness is one of those elements of GATTACA-esque significance. Though being PC and Canadian seem to be synonymous, that’s not so much the case in Poland. We’re now experienced at maintaining a neutral… Read More PC is not a Term in Poland

The Thankful List

Here we sit contentedly in Włocławek in the after-glow of our Thanksgiving meal. It’s not a holiday here and in the absence of festive store displays and turkey themed posters we’re reminded that we have a lot (copious amounts in fact) to be thankful for every single day of the year. This list is hardly… Read More The Thankful List

The Welcome to Parenthood List

Parenthood welcomes you like one giant, exhilarating, stupendous punch in the face. On December 20th at 08:42 we joined the ranks of parents. In just a few moments an entire piece of our identity changed when we welcomed Daxon Reid Price into the world. Despite the lack of sleep, we’re bonding with the little human.… Read More The Welcome to Parenthood List

Before moving overseas we had lots of expectations and guesses about what it would be like to put our life into a suitcase and do what we were wired for. Actually doing it was a whole other experience. Almost 4 years on, here is a quick list of… Read More The Lessons You Don’t Learn Until After the Move List

The Moving to Włocławek List

Our observations, odd experiences and learning moments from our first few weeks in Poland. the road leading up to our apartment block was pretty rough and we were glad to see the paving crew come.  Until they paved in behind where all of our cars were parked and trapped us in the night before a… Read More The Moving to Włocławek List

The Coming Home to Slovakia List

With 6 months of separation between us, there have been a few reminder moments for us as we return to life in a familiar and beloved part of Europe.  Here is a list of things we’ve been reminded of: 130 km/h is the posted speed limit and is simply a place to begin your speeding.… Read More The Coming Home to Slovakia List

The Totally Shallow List of Things we’ll Miss

Over 2 years ago we moved to Nitra. What was once so unfamiliar is now a part of the everyday (though, admittedly, the post office still confuses us…and most Slovaks too for that matter). In celebration of our 2 years here in the Slovak Republic, we’d like to share some things we’ll miss – and… Read More The Totally Shallow List of Things we’ll Miss

Though Siam was never colonized, you still find hints of European influence in Bangkok.
I see you Bangkok - getting all Christmas-ified.
Some days you just end up driving behind a pick-up truck which is transporting the lower half of a giant Hulk statue.
Christmas baking and pillow making - oh yes, cooking and sewing may be viewed as domestic duties, but this is not one of those, “look at my wife and her domestic diva-ness” type posts. Where some might see household tasks, I see @aprice82 expressing her creativity, problem solving, and love for her family. After hours in the kitchen, she mentioned being tired but how she knows these treats bring joy to the kiddos and me. And with sore feet, and hips, my pregnant wife put on a clean shirt and went out the door. Right now she’s spending time with some of the kind souls who live and work in one of Bangkok’s red light districts while we cozy up on pillows and eat cookies. She’s not a domestic goddess - she’s a leader and a giver and a servant and a creative and a...this list could be lengthy, so let’s just say we’re fans.
